Certification Exam Centers
There are two main testing centers for IT exam certification located across the United States and Canada. They are Thompson Prometric and Pearson Vue. Please note that your choice of exam center may very depending on your certification exam. See below for additional details.
Microsoft Exams:
As of 2008, Microsoft has partnered exclusively with Prometric for the delivery of the Microsoft professional certification and Microsoft Dynamics exams. All Microsoft certification exams are delivered only through Thompson Prometric Authorized Test Centers. For details, contact Prometric.
Cisco Exams:
As of 2007, Pearson Vue was chosen as the exclusive certification testing vendor for all Cisco certification exams. All Cisco certification exams are delivered only through Pearson Vue Authorized Test Centers. For details, contact Pearson Vue.
CompTIA Exams and others:
For the CompTIA Certification exams and most others, you may choose either Prometric or Pearson Vue for your exam.
CISA Exams:
The CISA Certified Information Systems Auditor Exam is admistered twice annually by the IASCA. For details or to register, visit the IASCA website.
Certification Exam Vouchers
IT Certification exam fees can add up and represent a large portion of the total cost of obtaining a certification.
Take a look at the following two examples below:
- MCSE - 7 tests @ $125 = $875
- CompTIA A+ - 2 tests @ $145 = $290
Fortunately, you may be able to save up to 40% on your exam fees by purchasing exam vouchers. Please note that your particular discount will vary based on the certification you purchase. Vouchers are typically good for one year from date of purchase, and deeper discounts are often available if you purchase vouchers expiring within the month.
